Our Founder
& Journey

Precise Language Solutions was founded in 2009 by Jen Chambon, a Nicaraguan immigrant who moved to the United States with her family in the late 1980s. They were seeking refuge from the civil war and eventually made Charlotte, North Carolina their home. It was in Charlotte that Jen laid the foundation for both her education and professional career.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. With a strong passion for language and communication, Jen built a career in interpreting and translation that has spanned more than 20 years.

In 2009, Jen launched Precise Translating as a freelance operation, initially providing English-to-Spanish translations for a major healthcare system in the Charlotte area. As the business grew and the scope of services expanded, the company was rebranded as Precise Language Solutions.

Under Jen’s leadership, the company has evolved into a leading language service provider (LSP) in the Southeastern United States. Precise is a certified Minority- and Women-Owned Business (MWBE), supported by a talented team of linguists who specialize in translation, interpreting, and plain language communication. The core team is complemented by full-time project managers, quality assurance professionals, and technologists. For languages outside its specialties, Precise partners with a nationwide network of certified linguists, many of whom hold ATA certifications and have deep expertise in specific subject areas.

Jen’s journey from immigrant to entrepreneur reflects her dedication, resilience, and vision. Her leadership continues to shape the mission and values of Precise Language Solutions, driving its commitment to high-quality, culturally competent language services.
